Steelmaster in NSW offers you a wide range of home kits and ideas as thought starters. We specialise in individual design to suit your requirements either by developing your ideas with you or working with your plan.

Steelmaster offers a complete steel package for your new home, starting with a bolt together bearer and joist floor system utilising pre-cut and pre-punched 'C' section purlins. Roof truss systems are available for Colorbond sheet roofing or Roof tile loads. Spans of up to 15 metres without internal support are possible. Roof pitch ranges from 1° for rafters through to 45° for trusses. Wall frame members are pre-punched for easy service installation including the supply of plumbing and electrical grommets. Our frames are free of the problems of rot, white ants, borers, fire, shrinkage and warping.

All homes are designed to BCA (Building Code of Australia) requirements and comply with local government requirements. Floor systems, frames and trusses are designed to suit local wind rating and bushfire requirements.

Gyprock is fixed to steel battens and does not have cracking and nail popping problems associated with conventional frames. A wide choice of external and internal finishes are available for our home kits. Including cement based weatherboards, timber weatherboards, Colorbond cladding, powerpanel and brick veneer. A wide range of roof and ceiling designs are available, including raked, level, cathedral and coved raked ceilings, scissor trusses, raked skillion roofs, HiLight Skylight roofs.

Steel Bearers and Joists:

Steelmaster specialises in steel floor systems for either single or multiple level homes. Bearers and joists are all 'C' section purlins pre-cut to length, marked and punched for easy bolt together assembly. Bearers and joists are joined by 4 bolts and a joining bracket. Joists are spaced at 600 centres. The steel floor system can be supported on sub-floor brickwork, steel posts or a combination of both. We can advise you of the most suitable solution for your site.

Flooring:

Steelmaster supplies particle board or structural plywood flooring to suit 600 joist spacing, with the option of 450mm joist spacing. For bushfire prone areas we offer Hebel PowerFloor Autoclaved Aerated Concrete or Compressed concrete sheets.

Hardware:

  • Bolts, nuts, washers and brackets (joining plates)
  • Floor sheeting & Hardwood Decking screws.

Options:

Deck Systems using steel bearers & joists with seasoned Hardwood Decking in a variety of Species & board widths. External face of deck finished in maintainence free Colorbond.

Many floor covering options are suitable for plywood or powerfloor flooring (not included in kit supply).

Steel frame construction greatly increases electrical safety as the house frame is wired directly to the earth spike and all frame hold-down is achieved by masonry anchors, steel straps and bolts, the fixings all direct electrical current from the frame to earth.
